The Awesome Foundation is a collection of 10 individuals who put in $100 dollars a month to fund an awesome project. This month, the new New York branch of The Awesome Foundation gave its first award. The recipient was the innovative BioBus, a mobile science lab bringing science lessons to students. With the Awesome Foundation grant, the BioBus will be creating “laser tweezers” so that students will be able to push and prod even the smallest of organisms.
Everything about this grant is exciting, the least of which would be tonight’s party
to celebrate the BioBus and how awesome we all are. Martini in one hand and camera in the other, I took a few snaps of the festivities to commemorate the event.
The bus is equipt with several microsocopes hooked up to visual displays so that the whole class can get a peek at what’s going on.
How his computers manage to stay in one piece while being driven around in the bus is anyone’s guess.
And so, we stand in awe of Ben’s awesome BioBus. Congratulations Ben, we can’t wait to see what you do next!
